This honey is guaranteed to contain at least 514mg/kg of methylglyoxal(MGO).All our honey is certified by an accredited laboratory and compliant with the New Zealand Government’s Manuka standard.
All our manuka honey is independently tested and certified by an accredited laboratory.
The MGO number on the front of the jar represents the mg per kg of MGO (Methylglyoxal) and the related strength of Antimicrobial Activity, which is known to kill certain types of bacteria. The greater the number, the stronger the Antimicrobial Activity.

The bees are sited in different areas to collect honey from flowers of different types, from farmland where they gather Clover nectar, to native bush and mānuka in remote forests.
We extract the honey from our beehives and for local beekeepers in our modern premises, under a registered NZ Food Safety Risk Management Programme (RMP) based on HACCP principals.
DownUnder Honey is a family-owned and operated business in the Manawatu, near Cheltenham, New Zealand. With our team of beekeepers, we keep bees throughout the lower North Island of New Zealand.
